#2... Done in the best possible way

My #2 goal was to finally go to Bonnaroo. For those of you who don't know, Bonnaroo is a 4 day music and arts festival in Manchester, TN. It is a pretty raucous time full of amazing music and dirty hippies (two of my most favorite thing... as I am about 48% dirty hippie myself). The only downside?? ... tickets to Bonnaroo are expensive... like $300 apiece expensive... plus you have to buy a camping spot... gear... food... and gas to get there. On a student's budget, it was just not feasible.

Enter my friend Ashley.... who just happens to be from the town over from Manchester. Long story short, her brother's wrestling team had volunteered to pour beer in two VIP tents, now all they needed were volunteers. I didn't even hesitate when asked.

(Did I mention that Bonnaroo was the weekend before my final panel review... and it doesn't end until the wee hours on Monday morning... and my panel was scheduled for 1pm Monday - way to go Eliza)

None of us expected the weekend to be as amazing as it was... we basically got run of the VIP Guest section (home to media, friends of the talent and holders of the THAT pass). This meant catered food, comfy chairs, concerts on plasma tvs, wifi, a/c and massages if we wanted them... oh, and BACKSTAGE PASSES!! That's right. I got to see Rodrigo y Gabriela, Erykah Badu and Snoop Dogg (stop judging me!) from 30 feet away. It was an amazing experience.

Plus, Ashley's family generously donated use of their house, so that we could sleep inside and have hot showers. We owe them big-time.

All-in-all... one of the best experiences of my life.

Quote of the Day...

"I must learn to love the fool in me--the one who feels too much, talks too much, takes too many chances, wins sometimes and loses often, lacks self-control, loves and hates, hurts and gets hurt, promises and breaks promises, laughs and cries. It alone protects me against that utterly self-controlled, masterful tyrant whom I also harbor and who would rob me of human aliveness, humility, and dignity but for my fool." -- Theodore I. Rubin, MD

Think about it.

Interesting article...

10 Tips for 20-something transformation....

My friend Hunter (of The City Hunter, check it out!), posted this on his facebook wall. As a twenty-something myself, I instantly decided to share with all 3 of my readers (whazzup!!).

In the past few weeks, I have found myself looking back on the past year and wondering what the hell happened to my life. Almost exactly a year ago today, I had a decent job (there was a steady paycheck and benefits.... albeit complete craziness in the office), a kickin' apartment (on one of the most desirable streets in the world), a bevvy of friends (most of whom, are still my friends, thankfully) and a pretty cool social life.

Now, I live in Atlanta.

Nothing against the ATL, but it's no NYC. As I figure it, this blog, school and my 101 in 1,001 is pretty much the only thing keeping me sane at this point. Having a goal and a destination for the next 18 months is crucial. Also, after taking a gander at this list, I have decided to take stock of what I am doing right and what I am doing wrong. So far, I have 5, 6, 8 and 9 taken care of. I need to actively work on 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, and 10... it seems like a lot, but hey, what have I got to lose??

Blog Fail...

Who sucks at blogging... I think I do.

I will say that I've been pretty busy over the past 10 weeks (this school I go to is a real b*tch). But, now I am done with the quarter and I have some pretty exciting stuff to share! (If you happen to be one of my facebook friends... you already know, but I'm still going to post)

So, here's to less blog failure... hopefully I can learn to suck a little bit less.
